The things we carry, and what we can let go of. Why forgiveness is for you and not them.
Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends. Proverbs 17:9 NLT

John14:26 But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. NLT
Make Room for The Gift
"Forgive. Do this so the Holy Spirit can come to the places where anger and hate wreaked havoc and now because of your willingness to obey, He can fill those places with divine peace."
Did you read the three scriptures above? The Holy Spirit is a #gift. A gift from #God himself. A gift from Jesus himself. Breathe, reflect, and take a moment to acknowledge this perfect gift. The Holy Spirit is here to comfort you, but only if you make room for Him. Another question, did you read the scripture above the photo? Did you really take the time to digest it?
#Unforgivingness separates close friends, i.e. keeps your greatest gift away, the gift of an amazing friendship and partnership; the gift of the Holy Spirit.
I'll be honest, I never really understood when people would say forgiveness is for you and not the other person. I would be so enraged, so befuddled, so full of wanting God to avenge me that I left no room for the Holy Spirit to heal and comfort me. The HolySpirit can't and quite frankly probably wouldn't if He could, dwell in a heart that is full of anger and revenge. How could He? There is no room for Him. But, if you let the anger and desire for revenge go, He is standing right there and will gladly come into your heart. He will then replace those ill feelings with divine peace.
And this is why forgiveness is for you.
Without forgiving others you won't make room for Him and as a result, your entire life could come and go without the joy of the greatest gift. Have you ever sat to think about what a great gift He can be in your life? I mean really think about it. He is a guide, a comforter, a best friend, a listener, a wisdom teller, a truth-teller, and when you need it, a get you all the way together, and more. But He can't be these things for you if you hold on to anger and hate. #Forgive those who wronged you. And don't do it for them.
Do it for yourself!
Do it so the Holy Spirit can come into the places where anger and hate wreaked havoc and now you have room for #peace and #love.
